FAQs
How would you describe your style?
Cinematic, moody, emotional, and honest.
I blend documentary storytelling with subtle editorial direction — focusing on light, shadow, and real connection rather than overly posed moments. Black-and-white imagery plays a huge role in how I interpret emotion and atmosphere.
Do you shoot film or digital?
I shoot digital for speed and reliability, but I approach every frame with a film-inspired mindset — intentional lighting, depth, and timeless tones.
How much of our gallery will be in black and white?
Every wedding receives all of the images in both color and B&W.
Do you pose people?
Lightly.
I guide you when it matters — portraits, family photos, and key moments — but the majority of the day is photographed naturally so the emotion feels real. I direct in a way that feels relaxed, natural, and cinematic.
Do you travel within Wisconsin or out of state?
Absolutely.
I regularly photograph weddings throughout Madison, Milwaukee, and the Midwest. I’m available nationwide and internationally for couples who want cinematic storytelling wherever their wedding takes place.
What’s your approach on the wedding day?
Calm, observant, and intentional.
I follow the story as it unfolds, anticipating real moments while adding gentle direction during portraits to create atmosphere and depth. My goal is to be present without interrupting the flow of your day.
How many photos do we receive?
Most full-day weddings receive 600–900 images, depending on coverage. Every photo is individually edited in my cinematic, moody style.
How long does it take to receive our gallery?
Full weddings are delivered in 6–10 weeks.
You’ll receive a preview of 20–40 images within the first week.
What is required to book?
A signed contract and a retainer secure your date.
Everything is handled online, and your date is officially reserved once both are completed.
Do you offer engagement sessions?
Yes — and I highly recommend them.
Engagement sessions help you get comfortable in front of the camera and allow us to explore the cinematic, moody style that will carry into the wedding day.
Can we request specific shots?
Absolutely — especially family combinations and meaningful moments.
I prioritize your requests, but I also photograph the day as it unfolds so it remains natural and authentic.
Do you photograph LGBTQ+ weddings?
Yes.
Every couple deserves to be photographed with care, respect, and artistry.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Some of the most cinematic images happen in rain, fog, or moody skies.
I embrace weather creatively — and always have backup lighting, covered locations, and indoor options ready.
Do you back up our photos?
Yes — immediately.
Your images are backed up on multiple hard drives and cloud systems to ensure they’re safe at every step.
Can you help us with timelines?
Absolutely.
I help build a photography-friendly timeline so your day flows naturally while allowing space for cinematic portraits and real moments.
Do you offer albums or prints?
Yes.
I offer handcrafted albums and fine-art prints designed to feel timeless and tactile — a perfect fit for cinematic, moody wedding imagery.
What makes you different from other photographers?
My work focuses on atmosphere, emotion, and depth — less about perfection, more about truth and beauty in the moment. Couples hire me because they want wedding photos that feel, not just photos that record.
